Mother's Day

Cindy at In The Teacher's Lounge is having a Mother's Day Ideas linky party. Head on over at check out the ideas: http://cindysintheteacherslounge.blogspot.com.
This is a gift I did when I only had 20 students. Now with 32 students, it's a little much for me. I found this idea years ago on the Kindergarten chatboard at teachers.net. It's called Breakfast in a Bag. Someone on the chatboard made up the poem to go with it. We decorated a white bag. I used pattern pieces from an alphabet puppet illustrating Ill Izzy. But you don't really need pattern pieces. We put in a floral napkin and spoon, we made the teacup and put in a teabag and then I put in a package of instant oatmeal. I thought they were so cute!

I put the poem on the back of the bag, but for sharing with you, I put it on the front of the bag (so I would only need to take one picture).

  1. This is super cute. And it looks simple, too! I am running out of time and think I may do this with my 1st graders. Thanks for sharing!
